Toray Plastics (America) Helps Celebrate At The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp’S Annual “Big Apple Bash”

North Kingstown, Rhode Island (December 4, 2017)—Toray Plastics (America), Inc. (www.toraytpa.com), joined The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp (www.holeinthewallgang.org) on October 21 at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square for the Camp’s 26th Annual “Big Apple Bash.” The event raised a record $1.6 million for the Camp’s year-round programs that provide a “different kind of healing” to seriously ill children and their families. Toray was among the sponsors of the event.

Pre-Bash festivities included a camper party with arts and crafts and face painting, along with special activities featuring Sandra Boynton’s new book, HOG WILD!. The Bash offered acrobatic entertainment from Cirque-tacular and the new Big Apple Circus, music, and dancing. The Camp’s CEO, Jimmy Canton, provided Camp program updates and introduced the latest Healing Feeling video, highlighting sibling campers Dmitri and Lila, who shared how creating music together at Camp helped bring them closer together and overcome their challenges. Then camper Elsa spoke movingly about her diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a form of muscular dystrophy, and sang “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars.

“The campers are so courageous. We can only imagine what it’s like for them and their families to deal with such serious challenges,” says Christopher Roy, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Torayfan® Division, Toray Plastics (America). “It’s wonderful to come together for this important celebration and share in the laughter and joy. We’re very grateful to be able to support the Camp.”
