Toray also makes a financial donation to the Susan G. Komen organization.
North Kingstown, Rhode Island (October 19, 2020)—Toray Plastics (America), Inc., announces that its PEF Division has manufactured a pink version of its ToraPRO™ foam sheet to help bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The annual October event and the color pink, associated with the cause, are recognized worldwide. A Toray customer in the flooring industry purchased 800,000 square feet of the pink foam to be used as an underlayment with laminated and engineered hardwood flooring. It is for sale at select retail home improvement stores in the United States. In addition, Toray has donated $2,500 to the Susan G. Komen® organization to help further the effort to research, prevent, and cure breast cancer. A special fundraising program supported by Bank of America and Komen friends has tripled the value of Toray’s donation.
“Supporting important causes and giving back to local communities are part of Toray’s legacy,” says Jack White, Director of Sales, PEF Division, Toray Plastics (America), Inc. “We are extremely pleased that our pink ToraPRO foam was chosen to help bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020 and that were able to make a financial contribution to the Susan G. Komen organization.”
White explains that homeowners and residential and commercial building contractors have selected ToraPRO foam for flooring applications for more than 13 years because of its quality and performance. The ToraPRO foam is precision-engineered, lies flat, retains crisp edges and corners, and delivers consistent thickness, density, and sound-dampening and moisture-barrier properties. The PEF Division’s state-of-the-art facility is located in Front Royal, Virginia.
